Quick Tips for quick solutions
To Turn ON:
Press and hold the Power button for 3 seconds (long press) to turn on the théa wearable breast pump.
To Turn OFF:
Long press the Power button.
Before each use, you may check how much battery power is remaining in the standby state by pressing the “+” and “-” buttons at the same time for 2 seconds.
Count how many indicators light up in the standby state. Each indicator represents around 20% power remaining.
Your théa pump must be charged using the cable provided in the box.
Charging the device using a different charging cable violates the warranty and may result in damage to your pump.
When the battery is low, while the pump is in working mode, the leftmost indicator light will flash.
When charging, the indicator will light up and the pump will not turn on. Use the charging cable provided to connect the pump motor to a USB power source (5V 2A), such as your phone plug.
When fully charged, all the five indicators will light up.
It takes about 2 hours to fully charge the théa pump and a single charge lasts for 2 hours usage at standard settings (the equivalent of 4 – 5 pumping sessions).
CAUTION: Do not use the pump while charging. Wait until charged, disconnect the pump from the power source and then proceed to use.
TIP: Charge immediately after finishing your pumping session if lower battery is indicated.
Step 1:
Bend forward slightly and hold your breast from underneath.
Step 2:
Position the Théa Pump on your breast, making sure to align the nipple correctly in the Breast Shield. Once the alignment is correct, place the pump inside your nursing bra.
Step 3:
To start your pumping session, press and hold the Power button for 3 seconds (long press).
Modes during pumping session:
When you turn on the pump, it automatically enters into Stimulation mode at Level 1 (default setting) with the leftmost indicator lighting up.
The théa pump will automatically switch to Expression mode after 2 minutes. You can also manually press the Mode button to enter Expression mode if your milk starts to flow earlier.
For more information on modes, please see FAQs
Short press the Power button if you need to pause pumping for any reason. You can short press the Power button again to resume pumping.
Note: When the pause time exceeds 5 minutes, the pump will automatically shut down and enter standby state.
Step 4:
If you are using the théa breast pump along with the théa app (optional), make sure to click on “Begin” when you start your pumping session.
Getting the correct nipple alignment can take some practice.
Until you are comfortable aligning your nipple we recommend you put on just the Breast Shield, without the Pump Motor, to practice aligning your nipple.
Step 1:
Bend forwards and hold your breast from underneath.
Step 2:
While holding your breast, bring the Breast Shield to your breast, paying attention to the direction of your nipple.
Step 3:
Use a mirror to check that your nipple is centered inside the tunnel of the Breast Shield.
NOTE:
The entire nipple (the widest part of the base of the nipple, when nipple is fully stimulated & erect) must fit comfortably inside the tunnel of the breast shield.
Correct nipple alignment in the Breast Shield is necessary to ensure a comfortable pumping experience for optimal milk expression. Your nipple must be positioned correctly in the Breast Shield tunnel before pumping to avoid discomfort.
To end your pumping session:
Step 1:
Press and hold the Power button for 3 seconds (long press) to turn off the théa pump. (NOTE: The pump will automatically switch off after working for 30 minutes).
Step 2:
Unclip your nursing bra and use your finger to break/disrupt the vacuum suction created by the breast shield around your nipple, before removing the device.
This is done by gently inserting your finger between your breast and the breast shield. (It is important to follow this step to avoid nipple damage that could be caused by directly pulling/ removing the pump without breaking the vacuum suction).
Step 3:
Remove the thea pump from your bra.
The Théa Electric Breast Pump is designed to be worn with your standard nursing bra.
In order to express optimal levels of milk, the Théa Pump needs to be firmly pressed against your breast, there should be no gaps between the pump and your breast.
Make sure to use a bra that holds the pump firmly against your breast.
Placing the Théa Pump in your Bra:
Step 1:
Bend forward slightly and hold your breast from underneath
Step 2:
Place the Théa Pump on your breast making sure to align your nipple correctly in the Breast Shield.
Step 3:
Once the alignment is correct, place your breast and the pump into your Bra.
Every bra has a different level of support, so make sure to get the compression right before each session.
If you are using a particularly structured and inflexible nursing bra, the included Bra Adjuster can be used to create more space within your bra.
Once the buckle of each end of the bra adjuster is hung on the nursing bra, adjust the length of the elastic to make it more comfortable.
We recommend you use the highest intensity setting that is comfortable for you.
A higher intensity setting does not always mean more volume of milk (in fact, some studies suggest stress can affect milk production).
Always ensure that you are pumping at a comfortable intensity level. If you don’t feel suction, please check if the pump is assembled correctly.
The Théa Pump has 5 intensity (vacuum) settings, giving you control over what feels comfortable and works most efficiently in both Stimulation and Expression modes.
Once you feel the suction on your nipple, use the “+” “-” buttons to adjust the intensity to find your preferred setting in both modes.
Step 1:
Pause the pump.
Step 2:
Gently break the vacuum seal between your breast and the pump by inserting your finger between the breast shield and your breast, and take Théa Pump out of your nursing bra.
Step 3:
Remove the Breast Shield Cushion from the main Pump Unit.
Step 4:
Twist the bottle and release it from the main Pump Unit.
Step 5:
Twist a new empty bottle back onto the Pump Motor. Pay attention to the screw – in position and direction.
Step 6:
Put the Breast Shield Cushion back onto the Pump Unit, make sure that it is aligned and assembled in place.
Your Pump is now ready for use.
You can store the expressed milk in the same bottle as it was pumped in. Make sure to use the lid provided to close the bottle securely before refrigerating.
Alternatively, you can also empty the expressed milk into a container of your choice and refrigerate.
NOTE: You can purchase additional théa bottles online.
Yes. However, we recommend that you use the app so you can track your milk output accurately and you can monitor how much breast milk your baby consumes during every feed.
Please do not use the pump until after giving birth to your baby. In case you become pregnant while breastfeeding or breast pumping, please consult with your certified lactation professional or doctor before continuing to pump/ breastfeed.
We recommend using a charging adapter that has a maximum output of 5V/ 2A ( like your phone's charging adapter. Make sure to check the markings on the adapter to confirm.
Step 1:
Remember to clean and sterilize the parts before assembly. Make sure all parts are dry before putting them together.
Step 2:
Attach the Diaphragm to the Inner Unit. Make sure it is firmly in place by pressing the diaphragm down on all sides along the circumference.
Step 3:
Attach the Seal Ring to the Inner Unit. Do not twist the ring. Ensure that it sits all the way up and does not cover the notches.
Step 4:
Finally, attach the Valve to the little tube on the underside of Inner Unit.
Step 5:
Push the Fully Assembled Inner Unit into the Pump Unit. When inserted correctly you will hear a click as it snaps into place. The diaphragm will sit snugly against the Pump Unit and there should be no gap between the two.
Step 6:
Twist the Bottle onto the Pump Unit. Pay attention to the screw-in position and direction.
Step 7: Push the Breast Shield Cushion onto the Pump Unit, make sure it is aligned and assembled in place.
For the first time and before every use, you must disassemble, wash & sterilize all the breast pump parts that come into contact with breast milk.
IMPORTANT: Never wash or sterilize the Pump Unit. This component does not come in direct contact with your breast milk. You can wipe this part clean with a soft cloth.
The Pump Unit contains electronics that should be kept dry. A clean, damp cloth can be used to clean the Pump Unit. Any other cleaning method will be classed as misuse under the warranty.
Washable Components:
Step 1:
Disassemble & clean all parts that come into direct contact with breast & breastmilk immediately to avoid residual breast milk build up that may cause bacteria to grow if not cleaned properly.
Step 2:
Rinse washable parts shown above in cold, clear water to remove the milk residue. Then, use warm water & mild baby dishwashing soap to clean the parts. We recommend using a brush with soft bristles to clean the smaller parts like Valve & Inner Unit.
Step 3:
Rinse again with clear, cold water for atleast 10 - 15 seconds.
Step 4:
Sterilize the parts using a method of your choice.
Boil in water for not more than 5 minutes.
OR
Use steam or cold water sterilizing methods.
We do NOT recommend steam sterilizing for more than 30 seconds. Doing so may cause irreparable damage to the pump parts.
Step 5:
Let the parts air-dry completely before next use.
The thea breast pump comes with a pre-assembled silicone cushion in 25mm and two additional silicone inserts in the size of 21mm and 17mm, so you can find a breast shield fit that is comfortable for you.
A comfortable fit is determined by the width of the base (the widest area) of your nipple. You can measure this with the help of a ruler.
In case the the standard Breast Shield (25mm) is too big for you, you may choose the 21mm or the 17mm silicone insert & place it in the center of the Breast Shield.
Nipple Insert Sizing Guide:
NOTE: Always stimulate your nipple until it is fully erect to get an accurate measurement.
The above chart is a suggestion of sizes to use. However, sizing is more an art than science and depends on how elastic your nipples are – therefore we recommend choosing a size that feels most comfortable to you.
**The size of your nipple may naturally change over the course of your breastfeeding journey and we recommend you keep the size inserts safely, in case you need them in the future.**

Millions of women around the world use breast pumps in their breastfeeding journey. Most often, breast pumps are used to increase the supply of milk, alleviate engorged breasts and also to store breast milk so it can be fed to the baby when the mother is away.
Lately, new moms use breast pumps as a way to express breast milk while they are at work, so that they can continue to maintain the supply of the milk even after they return to work. Moms of toddlers use breast pumps as a way to continue feeding their babies without putting the child to the breast, since toddlers may bite their nipples while teething.
Yes it does!

The thea wearable breast pump gives you the ability to offer breast milk to your baby, even when you are at work.
Simply use your pump to express breast milk before you go to work, and a care giver can feed the milk to your baby while you are gone.
This way, baby gets breast milk even when you are not around. Win!
The théa pump gives the option of wireless, handsfree pumping! It fits in your bra, without having long wires or tubes or milk bottles protruding from your chest.
Your thea pump can be used wherever you go - at home, in the office or even out with friends.
We've had testers drive cars, change their babies, sit in a cafe and much more - so long as the pump is functioning properly you can use it in any position you like.
Generally we recommend sitting or standing in a comfortable position while using the pump. However, depending on factors like the amount of milk in the bottle and where the pump sits on your breast, you might find you have more flexibility.
NOTE: We do not recommend laying down at lower than a 60 degree angle while using the pump.
The théa pump has been designed to mimic the suckling pattern of a newborn baby.
The are 2 modes in the Théa Pump - Stimulation Mode & Expression Mode.
Both these modes come with 5 levels of intensity.
The Stimulation Mode is a faster pumping rhythm that mimics the sucking pattern of a breastfeeding infant to stimulate milk let-down.
The Expression Mode is a slower pumping rhythm that mimics the infant's suck during the feeding phase for efficient milk expression.
The thea pump also has the ability to let you switch from Stimulation Mode to Expression Mode in case your milk starts to flow sooner.
